The Fort Wayne Colored Giants were one of the city’s most successful and influential baseball teams, dominating the early 1900s and helping shape the legacy of Black baseball in Indiana and across the Midwest. Founded in 1908, the Colored Giants became a powerhouse independent team, regularly competing against top Black and white semi-pro clubs and drawing large crowds wherever they played.
